A new TechTarget research survey reveals several important—and potentially alarming—trends on endpoint backup.

As more and more users create essential data on their desktops and laptops—and often store at least a copy of that data on those devices—it’s increasingly clear that endpoint backup must be a fundamental part of the IT department’s mandate when it comes to ensuring availability of critical data.

However, not all organizations have taken the necessary steps to protect their users’ endpoint devices against the risk of data loss. This is particularly significant considering how business stakeholders are creating, accessing and sharing mission-critical data on endpoint devices in their offices, at remote facilities, at customer sites or even over Wi-Fi at 35,000 feet.
